The dub version is short and bland. The last part is the only part that is different and the only thing that is different about that part is that it has guitar.
The reworked album version is different throughout.
And I will say this, and being from the U.S. I know what I'm talking about, if you can get a U.S. crowd to like a Prodigy song so much as to dance and sing to it, it must remain in the setlist. This was the case in NYC as you can see above.
Also, before the whole world knew of the existence of the Thunder dub, based on YouTube videos, whenever the song would start playing people would go crazy, but as soon as people realized that the beats were different and non-changing, they would stand still and look at the stage with flat expressions. Thunder dub is one of those tracks that make Prodigy look average.
I've never heard the Original Thunder live myself, but I did hear the dub version and it was, next to Firestarter, my least favorite of the set.
THE ONLY TIME THUNDER DUB WORKS IS ON THE WORLD'S ON FIRE LIVE ALBUM!
I would like that either the original comes back and the dub is cut, the original and dub are played together like Spitfire/Spitfast, or there is no Thunder live at all so as to keep from teasing the crowd.
Don't get me wrong, I would really like to hear it live once as well but I don't really get where you are coming from... So if Americans like it the rest of the world will automatically like it as well?

I agree. I remember when i heard Thunder dub for the first time i wished that it will turn into the original version but then the dub part kicked in...

That's a great idea!

When you are out of space, you must break & enter...walking through mindfields and following medusas path...then the warriors should dance and invaders will die.

He's not trying to say that Americans are the be all, end all for a Prodigy gig.
I am an American, and I hear a lot of shit talk about how the American audience sucks and don't know how to rock out at a Prodigy gig.
...and here's a song that ignited that audience into a frenzy, you would think it would rock even harder for audiences all over the rest of the world. But was only played twice and not given a chance.
I think you're looking into it too much and taking offense at something that wasn't meant to be a dis to the rest of the world. He's just saying, like many have said, that if the American crowds are hard to get moving... here's a tune that got them moving... but was dropped from the set.

Haha I wasn't offended or anything like that at all. I don't have anything against Americans, lived over there for a while so no worries But I was just wondering what he meant by saying that, now I get it!
Anyhow it would be cool if it returned in their setlist! I think it would really match with the 'darker' feeling Liam wants to get...

I wasn't trying to come off as mean or anything...
it's tough to convey your emotion or intention when typing something out
I was just trying to help clarify the situation...
hopefully didn't come off like I was attacking anyone
Just putting into context the comment about Americans going crazy for the track
Just trying to have a friendly conversation and hopefully bring some understanding

That is EXACTLY what I was trying to say. Thanks for clarifying that. I remember when I had email conversations with Prodigy's light designer, Andy Hurst, and eventually I came across as sounding way too selfish that he told me that I "need to learn some manners. Now fuck off!" I hate it when people take things the wrong way

Fuck em and their thunder dub. I just watched moscow live 2012 and I personally dont like it AT ALL! it only works at warriors dance but in a club or a small gig use THE NORMAL THUNDER! you need a big crowd for the dub.

I am only asking for the chance for everybody to hear the original or re worked live version and not a dubbed down version. At first I wasn't keen on thunder dub but it is technically good as a break tune to chill to after some heavy tunes.
The potential of the real Thunder is something amazing that I feel The prodigy are holding back on.....
