To be fair.... the queues were shocking, and the supports were shocking.... But bulldozed and started again is a bit over the top, I think The Bowl is a great outdoor venue but the festival prob could of been organised better. I honestly dont see what all the fuss is about with WDF though, other than Weather Experience, Mindfields, Charly and EITP (which both the last two had been played in gigs leading up to WDF) the setlist was no different. I know it was their biggest ever gig etc... but is that such a great thing?
Personally as a lover of both festivals and The Prodigy I think the WDF was a great idea and I had a great day. That said I'm slightly inclined to agree about the set list - it didn't really differ enormously from any of their live performances I've seen over the past two or three years and I suppose I was hoping for something really different, especially as a large percentage of the people there were probably people who've been fans from the early days.
The only queues which got on my tits were those caused by the massive bottleneck effect when walking from the main bowl to the smaller arena. Wasn't anything too major though and I think with that many people at an event you're going to get that wherever it's held.
I'm not complaining though and at least it didn't rain. Much.
