after about 2-3 dry months creativity-wise, i finally got a little kick of inspiration.
here are some demos that i've been working on the past month or so...
"Proper Funkage," "Brooklyn Stomp (NR's DnB Rework)," & "Boom!"

been getting great responses from it...
especially "Proper Funkage," which is a little tune that i had fun experimenting with old school funk, rock, and hip hop samples to mash up, cut up, and create something completely new from. probably the funkiest. catchiest, most upbeat thing that i've written since "Disco Bustin'" people said it had a kinda Prodigy, Chemical Bros., Justice vibe.
i had fun amping up my track "Brooklyn Stomp," which was a more hip hop affair on the album. pushed the bpm up from 145 to 182 and gave it a little DnB flavor. something that i did mainly for the live shows since the original was a little too slow groove for a live setting. wanted something faster and a little more in your face. keeps the main idea of the original track in tact with some added and reworked sections.
"Boom!" was me kinda taking influence from the mid-90's big beat scene, like Chemical Bros. and Leftfield. the older of the three that helped kick off my new creative spurt. kinda blends my more dance, upbeat side from my previous album "Lines & Shapes" with my newer style and sound. still messing with the overall mix, which i'm not completely satisfied with just yet.
got a few more tunes brewing that i would like to post soon in the "extras" section.
once i get them all finalized, planning on putting them on another free downloadable EP in July.
collaborating with a couple of local rappers: Centri & Villain
some tracks are gonna end up on my release while i'm also starting to get paid now to produce a couple of instrumentals for their upcoming releases. hopefully opens me up to a new crowd and get me some more paid writing gigs. it's all pretty neat.
