Hey guys, i have a question for ya

Back in the 90's Liam used to apply some sort of effect on a sample, like on these videos:

- !
from 3:50 till the end of the video.

- And on this track also

0:24-0:55 1:36 and 3:08 clearly
- here you can hear it to

at 1:53 and clearly at 2:57

Do you know what it is? Its driving me crazy

The only thing that i figured out is that it is triggered from the mixer, uhgrr the agony of not knowing!

its a 303 assigned with frequency modulation...isnt it? :/

dont know, have any video that shows that? But don't forget that in narayan doesn't use a 303.

That one is a different effect, that one is like an overdrive i think and its also used on the narayan video but its still not the effect that i asked for.

its not a sample ..its a live roland tb303 and he's slipping in a small bit of reverb & pulling back the attack/decay on the synthknobs.

This is a 303 mod (called Devil Fish) that I seena while ago and the sound has stuck in my head since. It's not exactly what you're looking for Gonga, but it's a step in the right direction


I'll try to recreate the one you're looking for with FL's 404 and see where it goes

Tx for all the reply's. The sound that i'm looking for is not exclusivly made by the presence of a 303. It was something liam used to aply (through the mix) to the sample creating and ambient type sound. Well meanwhile i think i may have found out what he did: He puts a sample (beat or a synth sample) through the mixer where he uses his delay filter. Now, if you set the delay time to the minimum (0,01 s) and push the "dry" option way up you will get a similar effect to the ones you hear on the videos i posted. I think i'm getting there

ps:this works best with a bit of reverb, and also by pushing the volume up on the feedback, i tested using the abl plugin which recreates the 303.
This effect will very depending of the vst you are using as a delay filter, i used fruity delay 2

Ok no doubts about this one, its almost exacly as i explained above. If you still have no ideia what im talking about, go to the second video i posted and from 00:00 to 00:12 u can hear it being slowly aplyed but its better recognised when the 303 is used. Check the times i putted and see if u can hear some background effect.
