I am too f""cked after a gig these days and I was thinking about prodigy memorabilia, showing stuff off, how it all works- like the W-30 where a lot of it started , with peoples own collections and things to buy or swap whatever

I'll see if I can book Braintree village hall for the event if you like, my old man's got some influence in the village hall circle.

Braintree is a great idea.. Although.. Standing around in a village hall?? Never been to Braintree but im imagining a 'conservative' club wiv loads of old blokes sipping ales.. Shit, that could actually be quite funny.

Id be well up for seeing some of the original equipment and hearing demos / samples etc.

If the dates work and theres enough interest.. Could be a good crack.

Well my old man is big in the Village Hall game but I don't think one would make a particularly strong venue - Scout memorabilia all over the wall, old lady crockery, having to be out by 8.30pm because the dog training classes need it after that - you know the sort of thing

Presumably if it was held here in the UK then it would only attract people from this country, I doubt anyone would travel from abroad for it until it reaches a level of global popularity and becomes known as ProjCon. That being the case we'd need to think about whether it should be held in a central location as the turnout might be better if it was easier for people oop North to get there (for example).

Nottingham, spirit of robin hood, my dads from there, nice city. Oldist pub in the country- The long trip to Jerusalam. Just feel london is more accessable maybe. I'd love to see or help anyone try to re create a setup or even more than one, playing off each other , it could be pretty mad

In a former job I put on multiple events i.e. one based in London and one in Manchester to allow people to travel more easily to the venue of their choice.

That probably wouldn't be a good idea off the bat though, better to put on one event and aim for a bigger turn out and then look at splitting it later on if need-be, once the reputation's there. I agree that whilst London's a pain to get to for people further afield, it's more accessible than somewhere in the Midlands (although maybe Birmingham would work?).

Definitly just one! Birmingham yeah if you think ...... Also I meant sound setups, having more than one, like re creating the old setups or new etc? - wasnt the rainbow warehouse pre invaders tour in birmingham? I think the other was in sheffield. Gutted I missed them

Yeah back in May 08, then I saw them at the Carling Academy Birmingham in Dec 08, massive gig! Recreating the old setups would be good I reckon.

Maybe if they do a tour then it could be held in a city on the same day they're due to play, that way you're likely to attract people to that during the day before everyone heads off to the show in the evening.

Re: PRODIGY CONVENTION? 1 year, 5 months ago #60308

Thats too much of an ask for the people with the equipment who would also be needing/wanting to get to the gig nearby!!! I have no proper setup and we are relying on fellow fans who I know have certain items....
I will pledge to buy a virus synth towards a setup , that is a purple promise edit note to self , check out price first! erm... will now scout for 1 working very second hand

I like the idea, be cool if there was a special invite event, where maybe even the band could come too. Loads of other bands do exhibitions, maybe they could have a gallery of photos from the early days up to now. The worlds on fire cinema showings had a sort of hardcore fan feel to them, I was looking around thinking I'd love to just chat with these people, and hear about stories of gigs and stuff. You never know maybe one day.
