On the topic of who 'influenced' who based on dates, it's worth mentioning not only was FOTL was overdue, most of the bigger tracks from it were around already for a while in live sets, and no doubt the same with Dig

so this thread made me go back and listen to DYOH and i gotta say it delivers

tracks 1 thru to 3 are awesome, completely forgot how good a listen it is

the close of track 2 is brilliant, one of my favourite pieces of music, the slowed breaks and explosions is simply fabulous

DYOH was a huge disappointment, as was FOTL.
However, Prodge will always win out over Chems in my eyes.

Bottom line is im primarily a prodge fan, not a chems fan, so id def go fotl.
Ask people on the chems forum and im sure they would go dyoh.

Smack, breathe, diesel power, mindfields, narayan and firestarter all amazing songs (despite tracks 2 and 8 being boring as fcuk by now which is not the prodge fault) could even argue funky shit and climbatize are good tracks. Not taking anything away from dyoh, great album. But imo fotl has already won by about 50 seconds into track 1 when the nice warm familiar bass of smack that we all know and love turns up. Chems lack alot of energy live a well. Roundhouse gig was v good but relied heavily on visuals. Not alot of atmosphere.

Verdict ------- hurry up and give us new material (my first post in months, had to get it in somewhere)

Dig defined the Chemical Brothers sound / the fat defined the prodigy image

FOTL is alot better then Dig your own hole.Chemical Brothers, i like but you cannot sway me away from THE PRODIGY.
