Most of you know I've never been to a Prodigy gig before and that my questions/comments plague this forum. But for real, how loud is the Prodigy compared to other concerts you've seen? In general because gig location does affect sound.

I do know, however, that the Prodigy have blown their sound equipment before and that if you turn up your volume all the way, including YouTube's, on the video below ONLY from 0:50 - 2:25 at the max, the base is super powerful if you push your headphones or earbuds against your ears as far as they will go. I'm assuming though the music is wayyyyyy more distinct at the gigs.

On the video, due to the sound limiter (either via Youtube or the camera) the bass get's limited, and so the audience screaming before that is actually louder...0:43 for example is louder.

Being there in person would be f*cking loud, though of course like any band at an official venue, they have to stick to sound restrictions (decibel meter and audio limiters) so they're not going to permanently deafen you

Well I was at the front row at Spirit Of Burgas festival... They were a lot louder than apollo 440 or the other bands that played...my ears began to hurt...i was in sweat and pain from all the ppl that were trying to get to the front...but anyways...best gig EVER!!! Oh and there were about 20,000 ppl there... I wonder how loud are they at "Rock AM Ring" for example (80,000+)

I went to Rock am Ring and it wasn't as loud as other gigs I've seen from The Prodge. I remember that I felt my ears during Comanche and Diesel Power though. I think one of the loudest Prodigy gigs for me was in the Heineken Music Hall were they blew up their sound equipment during Their Law.

Rumour has it that when they headlined Radio One Big Weekend, Liam said that they'd only do it if they could use their own sound sytem!

I think that's pretty much the same for all the festivals they play but i may be wrong!

The festival i most noticed it at was IOW 09! Pendulum were loud, Basement Jaxx were even louder but when The Prodigy came on the whole bloody Island was shakeing

The Prodigy aren't louder than other bands I've seen live...

they are loud.proberly one of the loudest i have ever been to.

There was a video of Their Law from the Roskilde Festival 2010 on youtube a while back. It might still be there i dont know..
Anyway, you could see a guy holding a DB meter in his hand, measuring around 110db if i remember correct.

i've only seen them once live, November 2009, ice-hall, heLLsinki, finland. weel, it was loud. i didn't have any ear protection and it was an obvious mistake. i was standing in front of the speakers and the high frequencies felt really bad in my ears. at some points i couldn't hear the music cos it was only a mess of sound in my ears. ,,,,,,,,,so, ear plugs next time, no doubt.

They are quite loud, no as loud as the were in the mid 90s. I seen them in the Livingston Forum in December 1995 i was only 14 and it was the loudest gig that i have ever heard, my ears were ringing for days after that. They are always louder at indoor gigs of course as anytime i seen them at t in the park it was always quieter
