beacouse ant is the animal which works the best and the hardest in the world. Maybe it`s the point ??

The Ant is bullet ant and Wikipedia says:
Paraponera (F. The goal of this initiation rite is to keep the sleeve for a full ten minutes without showing any signs of pain. When finished, the boys' (now men) arm is temporarily paralyzed because of the venom, and may shake uncontrollably for days

Yesterday i was sitting on my patio getting some sun....and i was watching a spider walk slowly around my feet. The spider was about 5 times the size of an ant.

There were a few ants running about the place too...as they do.

But at one stage the spider and one of the ants crossed paths.
The ant seemed to me.. to bully his way past the spider, all cocky and bold....
The spider kinda froze...and then ran away in the opposite direction.

cool eh? never noticed anything like that before.
I'd say the ants are fairly feared..in some circles.
