well, for me the favorite one is Maxim, just <3 how he shouts, screams on live shows, i wish that keith would be like him on stage....i liked keith a lot in 90s with that punk style (firestaarteeeer), but they would be that who they are now without the heart of the prodigy - liam

Couldn't agree more mate. I understand the need for Keith & Keith live (and wouldn't change it), but at the end of the day if they had no vocal input on the albums I would be happier, although they do thankfully provide instrumentals for the tracks in question. Poison is the exception to the rule regarding vocals. After all they both put their vocals over tracks live that they didn't on the album version and it works OK. Their Law is a prime example.
It just makes me laugh that some people on here in the past have cussed me for saying I don't really like Keiths vocals on album tracks, especially as they went on about live performances, little realising I wasn't talking about that! The same people didn't really think Leeroy was that big a loss either. However, these same people had never seen the Prodigy perform live with Leeroy or without Keith singing, so their opinions on both matters are irrelevent to me.
And sorry, but seeing Leeroy in live videos and formulating an opinion isn't enough. Seeing the Longman dancing away in front of you was one of the highlights of the live performance and his loss was a huge one. So, so, so pleased I got to meet him and have a chat outside Southend last week (and he signed my copy of Jilted (vinyl cover) along with the other members). I did tell him there were a load of us on the forum who had been blessed with seeing him on stage live and how we all missed him a great deal. He did seem quite touched by that I have to say. Diamond geezer as well.

Nice mate! Thats a fucking dream come true there! Whatever about Keith, I feel Keeti is absolutely essential for a live show he just works it so well! Adds that extra dimension and to the uniqueness of The Prodigy!

As I have said a few times, there is a big difference in my opinions about live performances compared to listening to the music at home. A few people seem to not get this, so me try to make simple for you!

Live: of course I prefer all 3 to be there live. I would still go and see just Liam, but idealy would be all 3 plus Leeroy  , and Keith dancing, not "singing."

At Home:
Not fussed about the tracks with Keith and Maxim (except Poison), so if it was just Liam in the Prodigy, I would actually prefer it as the tracks they sing on would have to be replaced by different tracks written by Liam.

I still can't get my head round people who don't consider Liam "The Prodigy", as he writes all the music, but each to their own.

Same as above.

I respect Keef and Max for doing what they do. But as Wayne said, anyone can do what they do. Remeber why the others joined Liam in the first place? because that loved the music he made and just wanted to dance to it. Max was the only one that was there to sing and that was only at pa's. I like Keef as a dancer and a clown like back in the Experience and Jilted days. Now... not so much.

For me it's Liam hands down, he is a master. Simple.

In a way there was some movement between albums as roles changed:

Experience:

1. Liam. Why? Because he wrote all the tracks and is the Prodigy.
2. Leeroy. Why? Stupid question, look at him dancing in the videos.
3. Keith. Why? His dancing and clowning, the ravers get-up in OOS was sweet too. Vapour-rub anyone?
4. Maxim. Why? Being too young to go to the raves I only got to hear studio tracks and see videos, and Maxim didn't do a lot in those.

MFTJG:

1. Liam. Why? Because he wrote all the tracks and is the Prodigy.
2. Leeroy. Why? Same as for Experience, but with the added bonus of seeing him take over the music live while Liam did his drumming stint for Rock 'n' Roll.
3. Keith & Maxim. Why? Keith in the hamster ball, still dancing and clowning, but Maxim for Poison and I had now seen him MC live.

FOTL:

1. Liam. Why? Because he wrote all the tracks and is the Prodigy.
2. Leeroy. Why? Still giving us the crazy legs.
3. Maxim. Why? Still great being able to see him MC live, but not keen on the vocal input on Breathe (studio)
4. Keith. Why? You're singing? No seriously, you're singing?!? WTF are you wearing as well? Am I at a rock gig?

AONO:

1. Liam. Why? Because he wrote all the tracks and is the Prodigy.

Having not seen any live gigs for this era I can only comment on studio tracks, and that is just Liam isn't it, even if Keith & Maxim magically appeared in the video for Spitfire despite no studio input on the track.

IMD:

1. Liam. Why? Because he wrote all the tracks and is the Prodigy.
2. Maxim. Why? Whips up the crowd fantastically live, but the MCing has deteriorated unfortunately. Not fussed about studio input.
3. Keith. Why? Thankfully no longer the rock goon of FOTL days, but seems to dance less and just strut around trying to look mean more. Not fussed about studio input.

I agree with you. Why doesn't Keith do those sweet raver moves anymore? Leeroy was always way ahead in the dancing skills but Keith could do it fine too. Maybe he has forgotten the moves or he just can't do them because he has so tight jeans. I think he's getting old and doesn't want to do them because jumping and spinning around is clearly easier.

Because the new fanbase from the FOTL era put me off the live gigs for a long time. All the moshing, attitude, getting shoulder barged, punched and elbowed hard (and often deliberately) in the head. Fuck that, after flattening some blokes nose who was really being overly "moshing" I thought it was time to give it a rest. Keith dressing like a prat and screaming to awful tunes like Serial Thriller and Fuel My Fire wasn't my idea of a Prodigy gig either. I was going to go to an AONO gig in Brighton but was let down by some people and didn't want to go on my own. Nowadays I couldn't give a fuck, in a way I'd rather go by myself as I can go nuts and not have to worry about anyone else.

I'm happy I was too young to see The Prodge in the FOTL era because of Serial Thrilla and Fuel My Fire(would like to see Mindfields though) and the fact that I don't have to be there at gigs nowadays and wishing Leeroy was there(as I didn't see him even though I'm sure it would be better if he was there) but at the same time I wish I could of seen them in the Experience and Jilted eras(Brake and enter.Nuff said).

Does listening to a band not define you as a fan?
