Did AONO kill the Prodigy vibe? 6 years, 10 months ago #8161

Has The Prodigy lost its vibe?

Stop and think about it. Has Prodigy really carried that vibe that they had in the 90's???

Im really confused... I mean, Charly, Poison, Firestarter, Spitfire???
I think its that the wasnt that "Hype" for AONO.
Well, all us Real Prodigy fans stick with Prodigy and their AONO.
But other people who know The Prodigy proberly dont even know AONO has been released.
I remember was i was in Queensland, Australia. And i was talking to some new mates i made their, we were talking and i mentioned that i love The Prodigy. He said, "Have they even released anything since Breathe?". I was like, what the f*ck? How could anyone not know about Baby's got a Temper or AONO?

The Prodigy still produce great stuff, Girls, Spitfire, Hotride etc. But there is no vibe no more...

As a REAL Prodigy fan, i was kinda dissapointed with most of AONO. I know it was a solo/reset album. And the vibe has been lost...

Um i wrong?
Um i right?
What are your thoughts?
Will Next album have the vibe? Just like MFTJG?

Hmmmm well firstly.... fuck off there are hundreds of these fuckin topics....

Also ask some of these people who havent heard of AONO if they have heard of 3 Kilos, Skylined, The Heat, Fuel my Fire, Death of the Prodigy Dancers..... my guess would be no to most.... because they aint hardcore fans...

I know alot of people who are into Prodigy stuff (mainly FOTL and MFTGJ era) and they have heard of tracks like Spitfire and Hotride... I was actually suprised when one day one of my mates come up to me and said "hey have you heard that new prodigy track... spitfire??", this was around the time spitfire came out (digital release anyway).

Obviosly after quite a big break between FOLT and AONO there was gonna be some change in the bands live act... but they soon got back into it and now they're rockin it harder than ever...

Yeah, you got some point in there. I can also feel it, the vibe is not as huge as it was back in the days, but during the liveshows (dispite that they're a little bit older now) they rock more than ever. I really believe the old vibe that we know, will be bcak again with the new album, i mean Liam has got its inspiration back and i've really set my hopes up high. Can't wait!!

My answer is very simple:
- spitfire
- girls
- memphis bells
- get up get off
- hotride
- wake up call
- action radar
- medusas path
- phoenix
- you will be under my wheels
- the way it
- shoot down

... i cannot imagine more vibe than on the list above

tkank you

Blame the record label(s) for not creating a big push and promoting the album.

But, to answer your question... NO.

Nah man. I think the Prodigy still have vibe, it's just changed with the times. I don't think Prodigy could get away with making stuff like they used to. Times have moved on, and they've moved on with them. They are just fucking awesome still. Personally, AONO is one of my fav albums of theirs, coz it's just so well made and is musically brilliant. My fav is MFTJG though, that is a masterpiece.

I'm Waiting for something with fat drums ...fat but not dirrty ( like the Fat of the land )

PS: AONO was a warm up (and experimental) album ...and i think the 6 th is going to be a lot better.

Yeah, it wasn't advertised as well as it could have been, and far less than the other albums also.

I think AONO lacked a bit of energy personally that the old tracks might have had but it was great overal, definatly didn't wreck anything for me.

Anything on AONO rocks harder than Nuclear... If Nuclear had been released that would have killed the prodigy vibe for sure...

AONO moved the prodigy forwards and the vibe is still going strong, tracks from AONO rock live!! If the new album is an improvement in any way to this with contributions from keith and maxim then I'm sure it will be even stronger.

Can't wait, I reckon the new album will be a lot faster.

To be honest I don't listen to Hotride and those ones on AONO but more ones like Pheonix and action radar, memphis, ...actually I hardly actually listen to that album because I'm still hooked on Experience and MFTJG so saying that yes it doesn't have the energy like those ones but I would still buy anything they release because they deserve the money for what they have done.

Haven't heard Nuclear, where can you get that?

It's unreleased and all forgotten about. It was a live track just like Warning. There are only some live recordings available, for instance theprodigy.ru and other fansites.
