TOPIC: Give us Thunder Dub in studio quality!

Give us Thunder Dub in studio quality! 1 year, 2 months ago #62139

Goddamn it, Liam!

I want Thunder Dub in studio quality! This video drives me insane because I can't have it to blast on my stereo while driving at a high rate of speed. This video is such a cocktease! Please put your official soundcloud to use and put this banger up as download. Pretty please with a damn cherry on top! All I ask. I love this mix so much. None of this fan made stuff, though it is appreciated, but I want the real deal! The live version from World's On Fire is not enough. I don't want crowd noise... I want the solid track. The extra chop at 2:43 in the video, really takes it up a notch in energy. So Liam and co., if you really do read the forums please give your fans a treat and put this up for download. I know ya got an album to finish, but this will help up pass the time with a tune to bang out! Love ya bro!

So please, release the studio version of Thunder Dub on soundcloud for download.

And don't get me wrong, the original Thunder from IMD is absolutely amazing!
It is actually my favorite track from the last album and was lucky enough to see them play a tweaked mix of the original at Roseland Ballroom in NYC.

So before this topic becomes a huge original vs remix debate, this is nothing like that.

I appreciate both versions of the tracks equally and fell they both rock in their own separate way and have their own vibe individually.

But I still want this dub mix for my collection.
I was glad to get a version of it with the live CD/DVD, but would deeply appreciate a studio version.
I wanna be able to bump this without a crowd cheering and Maxim shouting over it.

I was really hoping that with this video, we would have gotten a free download of it or something at least.

Is there anyone else out there that I would love to have an actual studio copy of this mix like me?

Re: Give us Thunder Dub in studio quality! 1 year, 2 months ago #62144

Yeah I heard this fan version
Its nice, but not the same
It doesnt do the riff chop like in 2:43 mark in the video
The switch to Religion link is way to rough and starts on the wrong note
Like I said, I appreciate the fan mixes
But its not the same
I want a legit studio version from Liam himself
I want the real thing and the version in the Greece video has a section at 2:43 that no one can replicate the way the riff is chopped. That part isnt even the WoF live version either. Only in this video.

Thanks though... I want Liam's mix!

Re: Give us Thunder Dub in studio quality! 1 year, 2 months ago #62148

Agreed! Bloody agreed, bro!!! When Master H hit us with that mix at Rockwave Festival (03/06/2011, Athens, Greece - theprodigy.com/videos?task=videodirectlink&id=62) hell broke f*ckin' loose... Many people left the front rows literally bruised, some of them could not breathe properly and were about to faint (I even saw a guy slightly bleeding), and the rest of us were dancing, jumping and screaming from the energy overdose! Pure madness stuff, Thunda Dub is so hot it makes the f*ckin' sun melt!!! So Neorev, joining your cause, I wanna BEG our Grand Master Liam Howlett to cast his Thunda Dub upon our heads and blast us to hell! It's been a long time waiting for some awesome B-sides to be released, old school sh*t like "The 95 vibe", "Nuclear", "Brown", "Gabba", "Lyrical Terrorist", even the brilliant "Vogue" (which was also performed live here in Greece, at Theatro Vrahon - 1995 Athens gig) so please Liam, stop teasing us so damn hard and GIVE US YOUR MUSICAL DRUGS!!!!!!!

Here lads, have a taste of the Vogue:

It will no doubt arrive at some stage, to be honest it's not a deal breaker for me, I heard it live first in Paris expecting the original, and even though I can appreciate it now, the original would cause real mayhem live (sorry neorev but I need to keep the torch burning for original thunder live

Yeah I got to experience original Thunder live in NYC and people went mad
Never understood why it didnt stay in the set
Im all for Liam bringing the original back live, so theres no issues with that
This is just simply, I wanna be able to blast this dub mix without it being a live version
Give it to us, Liam!

This is a track that will typically be released with a 'More' album. Something for the 15-year anniversary this summer for FoTL?

Here's hoping like just before the release of IMD we got Experience: Expanded and More Jilted

I would love More FotL and More AONO

And hopefully one day, More IMD

Simply - could they do album more quickly? And put alternative versions, Prodigy's remix at singles.

Maybe in a distant future Liam will realease unrealesead tracks. Just imagine, Gabba, Dead Ken, THunder dub aswell as breathe, Vogue, we eat rhythm and many more. I personally believe some of the tracks may be releasead for free when the band ends but some of them i believe will never see the day light, this way they will remain special to those who had the luck to hear them live.

Just download it off of YouTube, convert the file, edit it if you want, put it on an MP3 player or CD, and listen to it in your car. Simple

Re: Give us Thunder Dub in studio quality! 1 year, 2 months ago #62173

Of course, you can do that. That's where these fan mixes came from.
But it's still not getting the full track. There's talking over half of it.
And like i said, no one has been able to replicate the extra part during when they are talking when Liam halves the riff. This part isn't even in the live versions. Just in this video clip.

I want the real thing. Too bad they scrapped the Thunder single because this probably would have been on it with the many remixes that came out around the time of the Invaders Re-Amped.

Like I said, they have a Soundcloud page that they are just wasting away.
Wanna keep traffic going to your site, make a page for demos and stuff.

Forget the 99 Problems and Foos remixes, I rather have Thunder Dub.
Just simple things like uploading a track here and there would help keep fans happy and at ease while awaiting the new album. It's really not that difficult.

But then again, look how long it took to get a studio version of Death Of The Prodigy Dancers for christ's sake. And Liam only uploaded their old demo tape because someone was trying to sell it. And they didn't even do that right either. It's never, here's a download. It's always embedded and you gotta figure a way to rip it in shitty quality.
How about when Liam gave us Spacehopper and Who The Fuck Is Eddie Cochran.
How about those extra IMD demos they played on Zane Lowe.
Instead of wasting it and just playing it on the radio, stuff like that should be on their Soundcloud page in a "from the vault" or "from the scrap pile" section.
I wish they would do more stuff like this.
I'm sure Liam has tons of stuff, even if it's a minute or two of something.

I'm sure every fan would love to hear more stuff like this.
But as a Prodigy fan for so many years, my hope for stuff like this has dwindled.
So many good demos and ideas just wasted and thrown away for no one to hear.
Simply because it's not the next big thing. Who cares?
I find it quite sad. Sure, it's not album worthy.
But give it to your fans who are dying to hear each and everything you come up with.

Dare I say it... No Souvenirs.
I felt that was the biggest middle finger to their fans ever, especially after cockteasing us about in their official biography book. Even if it didn't make it on to an album, it should have been uploaded for us.

For fuck's sake, instead of being lazy and reusing Ghost Town on a charity compilation multiple times...
Throw No Souvenirs on one! That would have made even more cash for that charity.
Tons of us fans would have given our hard earned cash over for something like that.
AND IT WOULD HAVE GONE TO CHARITY.

My last hope is that Liam is saving all this up for when The Prodigy officially decide to retire and put out a collection of rarities, demos, alt mixes, and cut tracks. But most likey, knowing them, this is not gonna happen. And that will be an even bigger middle finger to us dedicated fans dropping our cash to see them live and purchasing each and every release, some times multiple versions of releases, just so we can collect every track and remix we can get our hands on...
because that's how hardcore and dedicated we are.
We just wanna experience the music.

I hope the boys read this thread.

This is just about fans wanting to hear the music... whether its album worthy or not.
It doesn't have to be groundbreaking or some next big thing.
Maybe Liam didn't find them special, but for us, there was something great in there that makes us dying to hear Trigger, Nuclear, Dead Ken Beats, Gabba, Wake Up Call (Full Vocal), Warning (Full Vocal), Vogue, We Do What The Fuck We Want, and etc. etc. etc.
The list goes on.
We just wanna hear the beats, it's what makes us dedicated fans.
