Man, I felt so much about this album. Basically, when it came out, I was literally the happiest man. However, my happiness went down when I listened to the whole product. I expected something dark, fast, edgy, blablabla. The guys delivered Experience 2, with guitars and shit synths. no, these are not Pendu-synths, the Prodigy were is their glory days when Pendulum were spinning their prince albert in the dust. However, there are so many gay melodies (yes, I meant that) throughout this new album, that I could help it to call IMD "j-pop". I am sorry, never again. Because, when I heard the guys playing it live, it was MY PRODIGY, the Prodigy that made me happy.
So if you're still reading... What truly disappointed me about this album is not their sound, it's Prodigy sound (although I expected something more powerful and more bass), but it was the album itself. So many radio-friendly short gay songs. I don't know how many people think the same as I do, but IMD is everything the guys standed against in '94. It's mainstream, radio-friendly music. They deleted A WHOLE FUCKING ALBUM because they give it a good thought and came to the conclusion that it didn't fit their discography. Five years later, they just throw this at us and expected us to consume it, without giving that many fucks, and we did. Radio-friendly and teen-pleasing gay songs and phrases (all my warriors???) was not the Prodigy I knew. I don't think I'll come back to Invaders very soon, but I acknowledge it, because my opinion is not fact, it makes me truly happy that the guys feel great, they are in shape and they dominate.
TL'DR: I didn't like it as much as I liked their other albums, but I got used to it and I respect and aknowledge it as a Prodigy release.
So i can agree with you that in some way it is expirience 2 yeah, IMD has that vibe. Also that they neglected everything what the prodigy and their music represented back in the 90's, ok maybe yeah, but you can't jugde them for that, i mean times are changing and they can't fight for the same cause all the time.
But gay-ish songs, melodies and phrases(ok except "all my warriors" yeah that's kinda gay when you think about it but nvm).I don't know man, this album can be anything radio material, bad, not the prodigy sound but gay c'mon man let's be real. We are talking about the prodigy over here not Lionel Richie. I can understand if you don't like the album and imo that's ok everyone has it's own opinion, but gay... So, what i'm trying to say is that every new prodigy album is not the prodigy we remember. Every new album kinda has it's own backround ,a new story behind it. Hey, but we all have our own opinions.
And just a quick question, you mentioned that they deleted a whole album because it didn't fit their discgography, were you talking about AONO, because i think that aono is not deleted from their discography but it's more acknowledged as liam's solo album rather than a prodigy album, but if you're not talking about aono, what album are you talking about???
