I don't think this track gets nearly enough love so I thought I'd start a thread to see if there's love for it on here.

Might sound daft considering what it's up against but for me it's the best track on IMD. In terms of a tune that lifts my spirits there aren't many that come close.

I like the track but i like others more.

I voted for Stand Up on best track of IMD poll. Perfect way to finish IMD. As I've read somewhere in this site it is all about the triumph. It certainly isn't in my top 10 though.

What irritates me is that it is more appreciated by some people who found it out through a game, rather than the fans of the band.

PS: Needless to say that my favourite part is from 2:58 to 3:45

it probably wasnt liams intention when creatin the track but playin it at the very end of gigs creates a similar vibe when leavin as when kasabian finish with LSF and people are left to sing it all the way out.
For the record, not comparing songs or artists, just making the point.

But yeah, love the track. It's a nice little comedown after the rest of the album throwing you about all over da place.

sorry, it has been a long time since I last watched it on youtube and my memory was vague. I remember people talking about where they first heard it, on the comments. I remember skating being brought up, so I thougt they were talkin about a skateboarding game. Embarrassed to realise that the guy that uploaded the vid was talkin about skatin to it and people on the comments talkin about Kick Ass

my only problem with stand up is that it is basically a cover of One Way Glass' by Manfred Mann's Earth Band all liamhas done is added some phat beats and got rid fo the vocal

or, just sampled it. he may have simply heard it, liked it, and decided to base a track around it.

Yeah, it's just sampled, not a cover..doesn't matter, good track is good track!

Eventually we're gonna run out of possible basses and melodies, and all music will have to start being stuff like Stand Up...then robots will enslave us and Neo will save us.
