And to be fair, this was my assessment before everyone (including all those who vehemently despised the "The" Prodigy before FS ) decided they did like them after all, nothing to do with the 2 number ones, they did like them all the time, just secretly. Obviously.
I was lucky enough to hear the whole album a week before it was released, before any media reaction to it, so my opinion is based purely on the tracks, not on the furore the album caused and the number of new fans (from outside the niche) that it attracted.
Dude, to call a Prodigy track 'one of the worst songs I've ever heard' is ignorant. You're either a hipster or a douche. Seriously, with so many shit songs floating around, how do you even dare to say that about a Prodigy song??? This is fanboy rage at it's fullest, but you know too that I am right.
On Topic: Jilted is the best Prodigy album ever. I don't think there will be something else remotely close to it, by any band.
Ignorant?
I called 2 of their tracks some of the worst I had ever heard (not mentioning that 1 of them isn't even their track, it's a cover version (do try to keep up)).
Fanboy rage? How exactly, it was a reply to a thread. Even though you've only made 41 posts (as at the time you replied to me) and none of them have been of any interest, I still thought I'd take the time to reply.
If you like every track because you really do like them then good for you, you're luckier than me.
If however you like them just because they are Prodigy tracks, then more fool you.
Serial Thriller was a ghastly Keef vehicle, not a Prodigy sounding track at all. Fuel My Fire was a cover of a punk track with Keef again (and Saffy from my home town) that again was nothing like a Prodigy track. Both tunes were out of place on that album, and the album itself was a HUGE diversion from what the Prodigy were BITD. After a stunning debut with Experience and the perfection of Jilted, FOTL was not what 99% of Prodigy fans were hoping for. I know many (hardened, original) fans who sadly tuned out that day, the Prodigy of the underground destroyed and popstars made. It was a sad day indeed for many. I have gladly stuck by them however, as nearly everything Liam does is golden. Not everything though, and remember even Liam doesn't like every tune he has ever made. Maybe you should write to him and tell him the error of his ways also.
I know you're right? Someone who starts calling people names from the safety of their PC is never right about anything, in my opinion.
Anyway, just popped back to the hotel for a swim and got sidetracked, so now off to party hard in Phnom Penh. Might have a listen to Firestarter before I go out (instrumental of course)
