TOPIC: What direction could the band go next?

What direction could the band go next? 7 years ago #2392

Everybody here knows that the 1st 2 albums were purely musical and 2 me the most experimental and complex of the 4 as personally I found the tracks as a story or a ride formation with the beat switchin back and forth throughout which is my favoured style.

Fat Of The Land was very different in many ways and became songs instead of "tracks" which was still cool but never had me listenin til the end waiting for some sound that hasnt been on the track yet 2 kick in and finish the ride and came more rock inspired.

Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned was mostly back 2 the Experience and Music 4 The Gilted Generation days but definetly not as complex as but just as experimental except 4 sampling 'Thriller' from Michael Jackson which even 2day puzzles me as that doesnt say "The Prodigy" 2 me but still kept them as songs and I thought it sounded abit samey with the screams etc but still is a classic album.

Wake The Fuck Up is their latest 'track' and a fuckin amazing 1 at that, its keeping with Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned style but it seems much more evolved but is back 2 a "track" apposed 2 a song.

Personally I wanna see Fat Of The Land songs with vocals and lyrics by the band i.e Breathe, Serial Thrilla, Razor, Babys Got A Temper (which is clear we're gonna see some of) balanced with Experience, Gilted Generation, and Neveroutgunned complex style tracks with the intros outros and bridges involved again i.e Scienide, G-Force, Wake The Fuck Up, Your Love and and show just how diverse the band IS and mix the old with the new coz Their Law: The Singles Disc 1 with Disc 2 gave me a taste of how it could sound.

The Prodigy are back without a doubt and the best band in the world 2 me and I couldnt fault them if I tried I just feel the last 2 albums (geneis as they are) lost the complexity of the 1st 2 albums.

Anyone agree or do you feel different?
This isn't an argument i just don't know how other people see the band.
Peace.

Lyrical tactics, vocal gymnastics
You get swept up, backed up, packed up your crews all cracked up!

The fundament will stay the same of course as the band has stated, but as for the kind of music they'll release, i only can guess: something similar to Warning, Back 2 Skool and Wake The Fuck Up. But on the other hand this could turn out the be totally different as we all know how Liam can surprise the audience. That's my opinion, but we'll see.

Yeah like I said in another thread I can't really speculate due to the mass change in each album previously.

Personally, I like songs like BGAT and Trigger. It's too bad Liam doesn't want to do that stuff anymore. The hard punk like songs are the stuff I like and Razor straight rocks me. If he does more like that and stuff like the hidden part of the DVD... shieet.

Second that. The demo mix rocks! Especially the Memphis Bells part, totally mad imo.

Razor is the track i listen to most off the bonus disc. It's great: it has a great melody, fine lyrics and ruff beats as usual. Actually Back 2 Skool was the track why i waited for TLTS so much, but now, Razor beats it, although Back 2 Skool is wicked.

I know that there's a lot of people who don't like Keith being on vocals and prefer Maxim, but in my opinion Keith has an amazing voice and totally suits for certain tracks and i mean, to have tracks with Keith and tracks with Maxim, it adds expands the variety of music by the band and it's fkin great. Ok, i better stop now...

IMO: AONO vol. 2, but faster and more dance oriented.

What we're dealing with here is a total lack of respect for the law.

It's probably best to move on from earlier material. It's like everyone would love MFTJG (part II) but realisticly it wouldn't be good long term.

I DIDN'T say I would like AONO vol 2! I've say that something like faster and more dance oriented AONO is possible.

I think that they should put all of the records together. Then the sound would be fresh, rocking, beats would be right. And the name, well, I made a little one:

AONO Entertainment present: The Jilted Fat Of The Land Experience
