I think you guys might be confusing Beat 55 (the xylophone-fused "this is it" track) for Mescaline, which was originally named Unstoppable, which is my personal favorite of the new tracks. That's right, Unstoppable is now Mescaline. Keith even does vocals on it, and Liam uses a voice sample which says "mescaline" on the track. Although the track is great, I kinda favored it when it was known as Unstoppable and had the different "unstoppable" voice samples. Whatever...it's Liam's tune, and I'm sure it's gonna rock on the new album!

ratmanprodigytycolbatanitariums...the whole genre thing is for babies who know nothing about music.
i have no idea what genre warrior's dance is..but the beat is certainlty not dnb.

to be honest..dnb is just a fluffy word they made up so you could easily define your collection of 150bpm (approx) dance music.

no one has ever been able to define prodigy's genre.
lets not embarrass ourselves by starting now, hmm?

And there's me thinking you knew about underground music.

If you don't know the difference between a hardcore breakbeat from the 90's era and
a Drum and Bass beat, then you've just embarrassed yourself mate.

Out of genuine curiosity; where are you from? London. Or nearby?
And how well did you know the scene back then.
Or the evolvement from Hardcore to Drum and Bass during that period?

Genre of music is not a thing for babies who know nothing about music.
To deny there is such a thing as genre of music is apathetic.

Also - where did I define the genre of the Prodigy?

I defined the genre of the beat and bass in Warriors Dance -
which falls into the Drum and Bass category.
That's not saying that Warriors Dance is Drum and Bass is it?

Why does this very tired subject keep cropping up. It's all a variation of a breakbeat theme derived from early Rock 'n' Roll and proper Rhythm 'n' Blues, which themselves are derived from early african tribal music and classical influences, which in turn basically evolved from cavemen beating on skulls with sticks whilst whistling Now, do you think we could possibly leave the genre defining shit alone????? Oh, before anyone asks the answer is yes, I do know what I'm talking about

Agreed man, the "defining the sound of the Prodigy"

is an old and boring subject.

However, someone previously commented
on a BEAT STYLE in one of their tracks. Not their type of music.

Everyone disagreed with him.

And as the one person who seems to agree with what
he's saying - had to comment on it myself mate,
as I happen to believe he's right.

It wasn't a debate about defining the genre of the Prodigy.

However, if they were to beat skulls on stage, that would be superb.
Then no one could argue about what type of music they're playing..

rpc...i can't believe you actually continued your fight.
if it makes you happy to think there is a nice label for the beat and bassline...then good for you. you must sleep a lot better than i do.

unfortunately for me, i've been heavily involved in music for almost 20 yrs...so its all merged into one for me.

At the end of the day all it is is just beats and how ya play 'em. As a DJ, when you can mix House into D'n'B into Hip-Hop into Garage into Oldskool into Hardcore into Jungle into R'n'B into Rock into '80s Electro into '70s Disco and Prodigy into the whole fuckin' lot you kinda stop worrying about genres cos it makes no difference And yeah, if Liam starts bangin' out choons by mashin' on skulls I want front row tickets

I had to mate -

Reason is, one fella on here had an opinion.

Everyone disagreed with him apart from me.
So.. I had to continue my point.

If everyone thought the same,
or had the same opinion;
it would be pretty boring in here man.

But as one person disagreed with everyone else,
and got put down - I had to put my opinion in
as it was the same as his.

Know what I mean.
Just a debate man.
And a different perspective on a beat loop.

Thats what music's all about.

For the record - Warriors Dance is not D&B.
Fuck knows what it is..

Good track. But it's not Breakbeat.
It is Drum and Bass, with uplifting vocals.

Let's just all try and be a tad more careful about what we write then, shall we..........

No problem, and yes, my friend, World's On Fire, is indeed the shit! At first listen, it took me a little bit to warm up to it, but it really is a strong track...love it! I'm sure it'll be a single. Of course, I'm also insanely curious to know what this new alternate version of Mescaline sounds like...heard anything lately?

I heard the live track on the Croatia rip and I like how it has evolved. I dig Keith's lyrics on it...the song seems perfect for him.

Celebrate the noise-maker!!
