Its op to the people who arrange the gig to set an age limit if any. For many festivals there is no age limits, so you should check that out.

Some there are none and if there are you could probably get in with an older brother or something anyway.

To be honest, the gigs I've been to, I would say that 14 years of age is indeed too young. A minimum age of 16 sounds more reasonable to me. To set the minimum age to 18 is a bit over the top in my humble opinion. I believe that at the age of 14 certain gigs are simply too dangerous for kids; being pushed around, et cetera.

When I see myself at 14 and what gigs are like, I really think you're too young because of all the drugs and the violence...
The atmosphere can sometimes be quite creepy and so you might just as well wait to see them at a festival. That's_just_the_way_it_is!

Saw Rammstein live when i was 14 and i was more than fine. And maybe some of ye know that Rammstein's live shows are outrageous with its fireworks and liveshows. + , of course, the usual metal audience.

As much as I understand your frustration for not being admitted to attend a Prodigy gig, I must say I don't think your age is the problem, I would say, "some" other attendees attitude is more likely to be the reason why they ask for audience to have a certain age.

I went to see them last year in Vigo-Spain, ...I am used to going to so many concerts, and watch them from the front rows, without a problem, ...so I didn't think anything of taking my 12 year old cousin...as there wasn't anything said as for minimum age there.

I soon regreted my decision, We were around the 3rd row, and it was really hot...with the opening act everything was just fine...but as soon as The Prodigy came on stage, that very same audience turned wild, ...I thought we were going to get stamped on the floor, and nobody would notice, ...in fact the ambulance had to intervene, to take some people from the front row...NOT NICE!...as it was so hot, you could hardly breath, and Keith kept encouraging the audience...***k You!!! I normally find this hilarious, but suddenly this wasn't fun to me anymore. LOL!

Fortunately we managed to get out of the heat, after a huge struggle we squeezed our way to a few rows back...and then I was fine with it, and was able to enjoy a GREAT concert!! ,but I would have loved to have been in the front rows, as I was when the concert started.

The Prodigy rocks!

Hope this answers somehow your question...

Im 17, and I went to the DC show a few weeks ago.

I agree with what Arie said about 16 being an age limit. I was in the 4th or 5th row from the front (I'm also a pretty big guy), and it was ok until the Prodigy came on. It was extremely rough, you were basically crushed if you were in the first 10 rows, sometimes it got so rough that you couldnt really focus on the tunes they were playing. Not to mention the mosh pit a few rows behind us, every once in a while we got an affect from it. And to top it all off, everyone there was smoking/drinking. I don't think its the best atmosphere for a young teen, 16 does sound about right.

However, despite all of its roughness, it is a sweet experience and i'd go back and do it again in an instant
