TOPIC: "Wall of Death" Moshing

"Wall of Death" Moshing 1 year, 2 months ago #62174

I've been thinking. The Prodigy has gotten the crowd to do numerous things live. Sing, clap, dance, mosh, run around together in huge circles, sit down and jump. I presume there's not much more you can do with a crowd with the exception of at least one more thing.

Something that is quite common during metal performances is what's called the "Wall of Death." What happens is the people in the middle of the crowd choose sides. When the band tells them to go, they run towards each other and collide in the middle.

Do you think The Prodigy should add a Wall of Death to the list of things they already get the crowd doing?

No whats wrong with dancing? The get the fuck down in smbu was pretty lame, never did it for me as I am not a fucking sheep. Just shows the boredom in the set that people are running around like headless chickens waiting till Maxim doing simon says with his fucking warriors (bitches).... What next? turning your back to the stage and closing your eyes with your fingers over your ears?

sorry, but come on, has dancing died a death to be following by sheep rammed in venues?

No, and drop the sit-down-thingy on SMBU too. That belongs to Slipknot

Get all the moshers to climb up very high on a lighting rig and jump.

nothing to see here, move along

That would only "hurt" the people standing below...

edit: BTW, during the Slipknot gig at Rockefeller, Oslo in 2005, people jumped down onto the floor crowd from the balconies That was the most intense concert I've ever been to. 1500 people (packed), the boys playing for two hours straight and giving 100% all the way, and with a constant whirlpool of mayhem in the crowds. Prodge at Sentrum Scene, Oslo (similar place, a bit smaller) in 2009 coming in on a cool 2nd. I've seen both Slipknot and Prodigy at Oslo Spektrum (indoors stadium, and with no age limit)... Meh...

So I guess no one on this forum likes moshing. I'm indifferent about it, but I made this topic thinking that moshers would be hardcore Prodigy lovers and thus spend time on forums and such. Not saying that only moshers like Prodigy, by any means, but I haven't seen anyone on this entire forum say one good thing about moshing

I never saw any moshing at the beginning of the prodigy, it's shit. Getting crushed in 96 at T in the park and having to go over the barriers was equally shite as was keiths reaction when i asked him to sort it out, he just blanked me ;(

Well i joined the forum in 2009 and by then there was discussions about moshing and a big majority did say they didn't like it. I think there was even a topic asking if you were a dancer or a mosher (?).

I've been involved in a few walls of deaths down the years by just being in the wrong place, at the wrong time! They look good but they are a recipe for serious injury. I much prefer the dancing side to prodigy gigs instead being battered to death like what happens at metal gigs.

The wall of death is something I wouldnt like to get into to be honest, but I dont mind moshing to be honest but I do prefer just to be able to enjoy seeing the lads perform without being pushed around. Prodigy gigs tend to have both Moshers and dancers at gigs nowadays anyways.
