OMG!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! I was going to be in Kostrzyn, but now I HAVE to be there!!! But it's a bit odd... Electronic music in woodstock? Anyway The Prodigy are called "rock band that play electronic music"

By who exactly? Prodigy are an electronic, ex rave group who incorporate rock elements to their (his) music.

The rock scene embraced the Prodigy as they realised how stale and boring rock music can be, and finally embraced the incredible diversity that the electronic scene has to offer.
They realised what us "boring geeks into electronic shit" had been saying for years, that electronica was the future so either jump on board or get the fuck out of the way.
As for being a rock band, can you please tell me which ones out of Liam, Keith and Maxim play the electric guitar, bass, drums etc live?
Sorry to sound preachy, but I do despise hearing my favourite group of all time being called a rock band.

A lovely thank you to Mr. W 30, James Jupiter the 8th, Mrs. 303, Mr. 909, and especially Monsieur Akai 1100 (The Earthbound Crew)

I know at Woodstock played some electronic bands, for example Masala, Psio Crew and rapper - L.U.C, so I don't see nothing against The Prodigy there.

And many people in Poland think about The Prodigy - "electronic punk/rock"! So in west opinions are diffrent. ;P

I also hate it when for example some articles say that The Prodigy play electronic rock or something like that. Makes them look like a rock band with electronic influences. It's the other way round, dumbasses. Minority of their tracks include guitars and the rock element in Prodigy can be seen mainly through the live guitar and drums, and how they perform more as a band than the typical electronic dj-type of performing. Their music is electronic and far more furious than any rock. I myself listen to some rock, but electronic music is where my heart is. No other genre can have as much variety and expression of imagination than electronic music.

@WayneB

I should write "somebody called Prodigy rock band playing electronic music". I was going to do it, but I was in little hurry and I forgot I think people call The Prodigy rock band, cause they do not know its past and they see the drums and guitar during live gigs. Personally I do not call them a rock band. Most of my favorite songs are from the era of Experience, when songs were having non-rock sound. I can't remember who it was, but I'm sure somebody called them (The Prodigy) like that. And it was not serious, it was a kind of metaphor or something, I guess.

@comments concerning the genre
They won a Kerrang! award, they metal
Also, they´ve played at Rock-am-Ring, Download and other "strictly rock/metal" festivals. No probs with that.

Big ups for playing at a free entrance fetival. And, norwegian festival bookers: GET ON THE CASE! I need The Prodge back in good ol Norway. UKA-11 in Trondheim in October would be great
