Kasabian - Shit
Prodigy - Excellent
No brainer! im happy there is a massive clash cos most people will be off bumming Kasabian which means more Prodigy for me

But whoever said they have been on a steady decline is wrong, they have picked themselves up since empire but are still generally rubbish....

Kasabian - Brilliant
Empire - Fu**ing disgrace
West Ryder - Poor to average at best

Amplifier - the Cooper Temple Clause are amazing mate!! I remember when I heard a track which started well slow but erupted... lyrics were... 'did you miss me, I bet you did'... then been training dogs came on, I was only 15 at the time but fell in love with it massively.... I didnt know Kasabian supported them! Are they still about as I heard one of them left to join babyshambles?

Them lyrics are from 'Did you miss me?' the opening track of their debut album. They were an amazing band, making the best electronic rock fusion way before the likes of Pendulum got popular. They sadly packed in 3 years ago. You were close one of them joined Carl Barat's Dirty Pretty Things. They and Kasabian went on tour together in 2003. It was superb. I requested the coopers support the prodge on the AONO tour but we got tripe like Youth of Britian and Vatican DC instead

Also, Weller... 21st time seeing them is big! I think this will be my 10th time.

My mate loves Weller, has seen him about the same times but for me I only like two Jam songs. his solo stuff is quite boring.

So basically, I can watch the whole of Faithless and still get across in time for the full Prodigy performance?

Yup see the clash finder which Jiltedgenerator kindly provided, top man! Plenty of time to watch Faithless and get to the 2nd stage for the prodge

Fuck it I am off to buy the full Cooper Temple Clause back catalogue right now, thanks for reminding me of such a genius band! x

You can't go wrong with that! I recommend 'Talking to a Brick Wall' class tune.

There is 4 songs of empire I really like, while only 3 on west ryder, hence the decline. They are good live but not in the same league as the prodge. The Prodge will get a bigger crowd. Kasabian could not sell out Mk.

Really? off Empire i only like two, Empire and Stuntman, and sometimes Shoot the runner, couldnt think of a 4th though???

Id say West ryder has 1 amazing song in Underdog and another 3 or so 'alright' songs....

But bottom line is we both agree they are not great... i saw them live a few times after the first album but soon lost interest, just not enough energy at their shows, but i suppose that depends on what you are into really... I lean heavily towards electronic music with a tiny bit of the occasional guitar band, so they are never gonna be my favourite band! Roll on V

I went Kasabian last night at Brixton and it did go off.... so stop being so negative Preston, as you know that I know that you do like them! They are our third choice live act behind prodigy and Oasis.

Their latest album was a masterpiece and their best work to date in my opinion.

Cheers Amplifier for the head up on CTC - I seriously forgot how much I liked them!

And also thankyou jilted generator for ther above!

Roll on Sunday boys and girls!! x

And do you know what has justr dawned on me Amplifier; in the video for Lets Kill Music by the Cooper Temple Clause - a bloke from my school was the main kid in the video (the one kissing the girl) and I remember how jealous I was that he was in it!

Preston do you remember Jamie Ogles? it was him.

Anyway. Roll on Sunday, anyone who wants to add my facebook feel free; facebook.com/nathonw

Kasabian are a quality band, i was gutrtedn beyond belief when the organisers put both The Prodigy and them on at the same time! but for me it would always be The Prodigy...
Anyways, im jsut back from V...

Im back... quick summary

Bad things...
The sound, it wasnt great, there were times where it was insanely muffled, and to much tops/treble

Good things
They were on top form
Liam played this awesome little thing before EITP
Liam played a fill from an old remix he did (cant remember off top of my head which one) before WD
Liam seems to be adding bits to the tunes, warriors dance, firestarter, cow bells during omen reprise, the new(?) intro leading into Poison is niiice, Breathe with the guitars...
that new intro (same as wdf) is just so fucking good, seems to have the bongs from Big Ben added to it

Setlist from what i remember
WOF
Breathe
Omen
Colours
poison + new fill
thunder
WD
firestarter
rwtw
voodoo people
SMBU
-
TMTTH
EITP
Their Law
OOS

Also id like to saya big thanks you to whoever came up with this for women... a hat, skimpy little top, bra, jean/denim shorts and wellies... fuck me! the totty on display with just incredible!

Pay Close Attention

V Festival Roll Call 2 years, 9 months ago #49939

It was a good gig, I enjoyed it but I agree with you Evans, the sound was a pit dodgy in places but generally when they sounded good, they were as good as ever.

I do think for the first time Keith and Maxim were not as energetic as they normally are, I think two years and bit of solid hard graft is starting to catch up with them and they all need a well earned break after the tour has finished.

Good to pay homage to Master H on his 39th Bday, I hope he enjoyed the gig as well.

Yeah the left speakers went during voodoo people i think.... Chelmsford V this is now!
Standard setlist but amazing as usual! Im not a fan of the big gigs really, festivals especially! It annoyed me that warriors dance got the biggest crowd reaction

Probably the last time im gonna see them this year as i cant make greece....

Got a drumstick last night as well, tried for a setlist but couldnt manage one. i'll put a pic up later for anyone thats interested.

Sound at weston didn't seem right either, at the begining too when mics didn't seem to work I thought oh no......

But still great set as always. And a great end to the night.

yeah that's right, still don't think the sound was the loudest I've experience from Prodge.
I don't suppose that was you with 2-3 other people after the show trying to get let through security door at side?
