TOPIC: Change in the setlist

Change in the setlist 3 years, 11 months ago #31580

Anyone else think that the prodigy should include in their setlist some old songs not realeased as singles, such as death of the prodigy dancers, your love, break and enter, skylined, funky shit and mindfields. These are all top quality tracks that seem to have been ignored by the band in recent years, and i think that it would be great to see them live again

"Death Of The Prodigy Dancers" - Played on the IMD tour. I believe at Cardiff, might have the wrong venue though, I wasn't there. Should be a one-off fo those that made it to Cardiff, in the same way I hope "ROL" will remain just for those of us who made it to Brixton April 14th.

"Your Love" - We were teased with part of this at Brixton in December, so it has been played recently

"Break & Enter" - The starting tune for the mid-nineties gigs like Brighton Centre '95. It's had its time live, but would be fantastic to hear again live.

"Skylined" - Another I heard in the mid nineties. Very missed but doesn't really fit with their new set in my opinion.

"Funky Shit & Mindfields" - Caned to death during the FOTL tour. Not needed in my opinion.

To be honest I'm of the opinion the only track from "FOTL" that needs playing is "SMBU." I am well aware that no-one on here will agree with me. My dream concert would be all the tracks and B-sides from the "Jilted" era. Now that would be heaven. Keef would not be allowed a mic, Maxim would have a swear box, Leeroy would be there with a new robotic knee and Liam would have his laptops confiscated. Hey, I can dream can't I?

Saw the new Orbital stage line-up of them, and I must say much lesser equipment and the addition of labtops... I think in todays electronic music scene a portable computer is inevitable.

You leave "CS" alone sonny Jim, it's perfect the way it is and my fave track Liam has ever done! Lower tempo? Blasphemy!!!!

Well, I'm going to see them at Brixton in September, so I'll keep you posted Flinty. I hope not, computers cannot make the same noises as an old skool analogue synth. Close, but they just can't. 303 emulator anyone or would you prefer the actual silver box? I rest my case.

I wasn't trying to be funny, I meant it in all seriousness. It's my fave prodigy track and I love it the way it is. Thankfully a remix of it will never see the light of day officially.

Well...then you should try harder.

This is a topic about the setlist so it's obvious i'm talking about a live version by Howlett, not an official release.
