One of the best gigs I've been to. The band have great energy onstage. The craic was had on the barrier, Voodoo People was the song of the night for me. The 3 euro pints in The Brog killed me beforehand though

What a gig!!! What an unmerciful experience! The lads ROCKED!!!! Noise Control weren't too bad either. I was in the 2nd row, 1 guy in front of me. Maxim came down off the stage and came over to us, got to shake his hand Flinty was mainly over at our side (left hand side as you're facing the stage) and he did a great job of making eye contact with everyone and getting us hyped up. Also saw Leeroy, got his attention and motioned him to go out dancing but he declined sadly!

My first Prodigy gig and it was definitely 1 to remember!

Long live the Electronic Punks!

nice one man.

come on lads, more reviews! us sitting on our asses (me) would like to read how the boys rocked the socks

As most of you might know by now, Liam's Virus synth blew onstage last night! I was wondering why he was wrestling and beating his tech guy on stage That's what the Irish air will do to eletronics!

BTW, Tomás - top guy!

What an experience

Captured 5 songs aswell - never seen that much nakedness -

The guy that fixes my guitar amps will be doing the sound for a few other acts this year -
He was telling me the sound system is the old one from the point

Explains why a friend of mine said he could hear it 10 miles away

Nice one lad! I was up at the barrier right at the "steps" where Maxim came down off the stage! Any idea of a good quality bootleg of this gig?

Amazing gig, we queued from 5pm and got shown right to the barrier! it was tough stayin ther the whole night but i did it!

i was wondering, seeing as red fm/ 2fm played the gig, would it be available as an mp3?

fuck what a week

gig was nuts. jericho and poison were the highlights for me.

as the gig started a couple of us agreed we won't be going mental or anything cos we're too old etc

it lasted until poison started..then i was gone with the energy of an 18yr old for the rest of the night. the best buzz in the whole place was the people near the front as we were all going spastic together. it turned into one big unified gang or something. i didn't see my friends til afterwards when they were puking on my car

and i ruined my favourite harley tshirt with sweat

bumped into einhesser in the quad too. good craic indeed. sound as fuck.

my short review:
prodigy were good, although there seemed to be many things going wrong for them including the exploding synth. jericho saved them though (it had unreal vicious new beats i think)

the best part of the night were the people and the night itself.

What else went wrong Tom?? I'd say the fact that support was only announced that morning wasn't a good thing. Jericho had SAVAGE beats! I'm on the prowl for a good quality mp3 of that gig since red fm were covering it!

have you tried redfm.ie?

i noticed after a few tracks they all came to a total stop kinda scratching their heads over something. there was silence when they were all speaking with each other over something.
back in the day there was hardly a chance to breathe watching them, but there seemed to be more stops and pauses nowadays.

alright all, long time no see.

slightly OT here as I wasnt in cork but was at slane yesterday.i have to say that i was so disappointed with the whole thing. this was the worst prodigy gig ive been at since witnness 2002. the crowd were unreal and really up for it but the band were so mediocre.i have to say that if they came again i just wouldnt bother, unless it was at a venue like the olympia again. sad of me to say it, but im as good as done with the prodigy as a live band.

the setlist was just shocking. i dont know about the rest of you but i am sick to death of breathe and voodoo people.they played a few song of the new album but the crowd only seemed to know omen.they played by far the worst track off the new album, run with the wolves, above a screaming track like thunder.maybe to give keith something to do,i dont know.the rest of the gig was wheeling the number ones from 15 years ago out of retirement again and again.i paid a good bit of money on a ticket and queued for literally hours to get in and i felt so let down by this.there is no way that i would be arsed paying 70 euro and a whole day to go see that shite again.

the prodigy are finished.they have lost all relevance now.the only cheers were gotten from the past glories of (mostly) FOTL tracks.the show wasnt even that good."this one goes out to oasis" maxim said.what the fuck is that supposed to mean? ive never heard an absolutely homogeneous and boring array of tracks like this before.in previous gigs they always played a few crackers in their along with the plastic but this was a new low.im going to see nin next month and he plays a different setlist pretty much every night on the tour.prodigy really need something similar to give long term fans something new to enjoy.

ill continue to loyally listen to the prodigy all the time, and promoting them to as many people as i can. i listen to them almost every day.but this is one fan who wont be handing them another penny in future.and

i really hope others got more out of it than me.

just back from Ireland now, and proud to say I was on the same Aer Lingus flight from Heathrow to Cork on Thursday afternoon with the Prodigy on board!!

Last time I met them in person was last August at Gatwick Airport, and now they get on the same flight as me. I was in row 7 and all I could see was firstly Maxim putting his hand luggage away, followed by Keith, Liam, Rob and other body guard looking types all sitting in rows 1 and 2.

Next to Keith was an empty seat, so I sat next to him for a few mins and had another chat haha. Kool as always (photos below)

The rest of the band were asleep, but once on the ground Liam ignored me and Maxim at least shook my hand. Anyway, great night as always. I actually really liked the Marquee, reminded me of the old rave days with the old circus tent and speakers in the middle of nowhere.

(Aer Lingus row 1 and 2 they had)

As I started this thread a few months ago I thought it would only be right to do my own review of the whole cork experience.

So here goes.....

I have been a prodigy fan from he very beginning and in total I have seen them 14 times, for me this trip was about (and I know this is going to sound sad but real Prodigy fans will understand) getting my Prodigy tattoo acknowledged by the guys in the band.
Having experienced a lot of UK gigs this was my first European venue and what a unique 1st gig to go to!

Even before we touched down in cork a guy sat next to me and my wife and recognised my tattoo from the forum. Once in Cork the vibe about the forthcoming gig was wicked and even the hotel staff were talking about it.

The venue was in the middle of an industrial estate and was literally a circus tent if you hadn't been to the venue yourselves. Having found out that Leeroy Thornhill (ex Prodigy) was performing a DJ set in the Savoy nightclub I managed to get tickets from a small quirky little record shop in the centre of town (Will let you know how this goes later)

Having experienced being at the front a number of times I was adamant I was going to get to the front again (Life or death!!)
While on the way to check out the venue we met 4 lads from Clonmel who had just come back from the Download festival. The lads also wanted to get to the front so we all queued together along with the guy I met on the plane.
After queueing for gigs previously it was very strange that at 7pm there was probably only about 100 people in the queue, then like someone had said 'go' people started coming out of nowhere.

To say the least the crowd was on the young side which made us all feel rather old but as experienced as an old skool raver! My wife even saw a mum with a 6yr old which was a first.

Noise control were the support act and managed to get the crowd pumped then...

..a sudden attack of lasers followed by an assault of base finally saw the three chamanic men arrive on the stage to a rapturous applause.
It was easy to make out their silhouettes as they ignited the venue by thundering into 'World's on Fire'.
Pumping track after track went by with me trying to get the acknowledgement I seeked from one of the lads. I had managed to sneak my camera in and captured loads of cracking tracks on video and the highlight of this was 'Warriors dance' where Keith pointed towards my tattoo looked me eye to eye intensely and with a closed fist pressed on his heart! This to me lasted for ages but was over very quickly, this acknowledgement wasn't to be my last interaction with the main man himself.
Looking back at the videos once home Keith in one of them looked right into the camera with his devil eyes and was singing and pointing looking like he was about to climb into the lens.
This will forever be my prized possession....videos to follow if your lucky!?!?!
After about 3-4 tracks I looked over at the side of the stage and noticed leeroy dancing , I eventually got his attention and tried to coax him on stage during 'Out of space' then told him we would see him later at the club.

After the gig had finished we took ourselves with our suspected cracked ribs, jolted backs and bruises off for round 2 at the Savoy nightclub to see Leeroy.
It was there where we spent 2 1/2hrs dancing away to some top remixes and even got to meet and have my photo taken with the man himself, one of the remixes was 'Break and enter' which was an awesome track!

All in all my experience of the cork gig was fantastic, the people were great and the Prodigy rocked It went above and beyond my expectations.....
