TOPIC: Estonian gig review

Estonian gig review 7 years ago #2685

Okay, now i'm quite sober and feeling good. So here's my review of the gig right here in Tallinn which was fucking AWESOME ! ! ! I'm sure you all know what i feel right now... First, here's the tracklist:

01. Wake The Fuck Up
02. Breathe
03. Their Law
04. Spitfire
05. Hotride
06. No Good
07. Back 2 Skool
08. Firestarter
09. Action Radar fill
10. Warning
11. Voodoo People
---
12. Poison
13. Blow Your Mind
14. Smack My Bitch Up
15. Dead Ken Beats
16. Out Of Space

The warm up started at 8.15 and it was a russian electronic band, can't tell the exact genre, but obviously trying to copy The Prodigy, but they were ok. They left about 8.50 and the atmosphere was getting excited. Finally after listening to dnb for 30 minutes, The Symphonic Intro started, Liam came on stage, then Keith and Maxim and people went crazy. After that they started with Wake The Fuck Up. That sure warmed the crowd up. After Maxim saying "It's time to Breathe with me" people went nuts and Breathe started. Now we could feel the vibe, everybody was going mad, drunk or high (or whatever) people started to fall etc. Now it was time for Their Law. Nice slow beats started pumpin' and we felt great. "It's time to Spitfire" Maxim shouted and the track started. That was really full of energy and Maxim got the crowd rockin'. Then Maxim left and Hotride started with a very long beginning after which the beat suddenly kicked in and it was totally mad! It was the usual Passenger mix. So then it was time for the track my friend warned me for - No Good (Start The Dance)! That was fucking crazy! The beats were more breakbeat then hard trance, a new live cover and it was amazing! When the track ended there was a little time of silence, Maxim wanted the crowd to be quiet, they were quiet, well for about 1 minute and i heard the silent beginning of Back 2 Skool. After the beat kicked it the crowd was again hyped up. I knew what was going to happen' after it... Firestarter. People were fking twisted, totally mad! Imo it was the album version cause there wasn't that extra bit before the chorus allthough it started like the new live version, anyway it was vicious! As usual straight after Firestarter Action Radar fill started. I love to groove to it, it was really great. Then my favourite live track kicked in right after Acton Radar, it was Warning! The new version. I jumped like crazy, it was awesome! And after it, Voodoo People started and the crowd's reaction was really good as again a track which they all knew. After the end of the track they left the stage and thanked us. There was about 5-10 minute break and they came back. Maxim whispered "Do you want a little more?" crowd responded with a mad scream. Then Maxim said it louder and louder and the crowd was really hyped up and Poison started. Right after poison Blow Your Mind kicked in, i was like "Diesel Power, fkin wicked!". Then the long waited Smack My Bitch Up. It was superb!! Then Dead Ken Beats just before Out Of Space! I mean that was the most fucking beautiful thing i've ever seen! That was the best part of the evening. A huge discoball suddenly appeared and it started to whirl, oh it was be-ea-utiful! That was the last track, Maxim thanked us again and they left, the lights went on and "Love is in the air" started, we all knew it was time to leave.

Some pics from that show aswell:

I hope you all enjoyed reading this review and i have to say that this was the fucking best night of my life! Thank you guys, fly PRODIGY ! ! !

Yesterday i read some newspapers on the net which were before the gig and it was said that we recommend to wear sunglasses and earpads are given for free on the spot. Free my ass, the price for earpads was 25 EEK which is ~1 pound. I can't believe how much crap you can hear from the media, for example:

1. Their Law, Their Singles
2. This time The Prodigy features L.Howlett, Maxim Reality and Keith Flint. Last time Liam Howlett toured alone
3. This year The Prodigy is touring with its original make-up. I mean if Leeroy is not a part of the band anymore, wtf?!
