I didn't read the last 2 page sof replies in this topic because I'm not too fussed what you have to say. this post is purely a swipe at whoever runs this board and I felt it best placed in their glossy painting over of their sheer amateurness.

First, where the fuck were your backups? You run a forum for one of the best bands in the UK and don't keep backups of data? I bet you backup your wanky dreamweaver/shockwave projects daily don't ya? I remember when your much hyped (but generally not very good) 'new' design for the site (the one before this, which is just as crap) came out. You don't run your own servers - it's all re-sold 'virtual' shit. Alright making things look nice is all good but without the knowledge or ability to run things quickly and reliably, what's the point?

I mean, you have this theresa bird as 'admin' of the forums. From what I remember she was pretty much just a communicator between the band/rock star and us lot. Clearly no forum maintenance was undertaken such as code upgrades or database backups. This is done quite regularly on the jilted boards, and we work for nobody but ourselves. Plus it wasn't until right at the end when users started getting posts deleted (sadly with no warning or explanation) that any real 'moderation' took place.

Maybe if the prodigy do read this (I'm guessing they aren't even aware the place got hacked) they should consider getting some professionals in. Oh the number of times I've said that


Anyway, I'm taking the opinion that, with everything posted over the last 4 or so years gone. there's no real point being here anymore. If anyone reading this wants to be in a safe forum that (despite several attempts) has yet to be breached in terms of security (and still probably discusses more prodigy than this one ever did..) then www.jiltedgeneration.com is always open and accepting new members. And the staff/mods would probably do a better job of looking after this forum in their sleep than any of the attempts made thus far - if the prodge or rock-star read in..

I dont blame theresa in the slightest for the fourm not been backed up , i think she does a cracking job working with the band ect .
If ive left her a pm/email in the past she has always replyed and has always gone out of her way to deal in peoples requests.
If it was upto her then mabey we would have a few mods on here but i reckon its out of her hands.

i would love to mod the fourm if the chance ever comes up i think theres 3 people round here who would do a cracking job cos were always around.
Not that theresa doesnt do a good job but people like Emp Dr Oct and myself are on the fourm day n night and you have to respect how busy theresa must get from time to time.

Good call steads - but it does seem to boil down to labelling something that isn't. An admin isn't just about service and response - it's equally about working in the background making sure everything works and is secure.

And on that note - I see one of the old school phpBB exploits still works on this board

i have only known of emp for a short while now, and judging by the jiltedgeneration site he would do a fine job here moderating and keeping secure. i would imagine arie (not the fake version lol) would be great too, does he have the time with his job? I don't know, even though he makes masses of posts all over.
