So many great memories for me! Hearing IMD for the first time and the pleasure of raiming it down those Prodigy heads that were claiming that Pendulum were the dogs bollocks and The Prodigy had had their day and seeing the change in opinon! The fact that the boys seemed so much more together and still had that gang mentalitiy of sod the world, lets take them on and kick arse. Watching the boys wipe the floor with Pendulum at IOW Festival 2009. Liam dropping Weather Experience at MK Bowl. Watching the boys push the boundries even more and take it to the next step and still pushing forward whilst the imitaters / haters stood and stared in disbelief! RWTW tour in Bridlington! Was great to see them in a small venue again as i had missed the club gigs at the start of the IMD era.
I agree with everything you said there. IMD has been an amazing time. I managed 19 gigs during the period and most them were mind blowing. What a return to form it has been I thought they were on the decline but IMD proved that they are still the best in the business.
My top five IMD gigs.
1. Birmingham Rainbow Warehouse, where my love for Prodge was Reinvigorated in a sweaty dive of a club with 800 fellow prodigy nuts. Seeing the lads in such a small venue was a real privilege. Hearing World's On Fire & Warrior's Dance for the first time blew my mind. My fav gig ever!
2. Bridlington, I was right at the front for this one. It was the stand out gig of the four I did on the RWTW tour. Great atmosphere, had a real old skool vibe too. Prodge and their fans as one. It was so good, we even got a rare 2nd extra track in the form of No Good.
3. Stockholm, I had never been abroad for a gig but this was fully justified as it was located in a hotel. Normally such gigs are held in some dull conference room but this one was set in cross between a modern club and a medieval banquet hall. Cracking gig infront of 1000 people, Maxim clambering on to the bar to preform Warrior's Dance. Great way to start off the album tour.
4. Wembley Arena (1st night) after seeing them in small venues, I weren't up for the Arena tour but it was a brilliant tour. Down the front it was a riot and it was a cracking setlist.
5. Download Festival 2009, Out of all the festival appearances i seen them. This was brilliant, the crowd was really friendly and not a pissed up chavvy beefcake insight meaning you were given plenty of room to dance. Band were on fine form too.
I just hope the next era is just as good or even better
