Not sure why people are moaning, if u think it's a rip off, dont buy it, what's the big deal!?
999 copies 12" x 12" book signed and numbered by the band sounds pretty good 2 me.
As for them 'selling out' in general that's a load of bull IMO.
As long as the music output and live shows are as good as they have been I couldn't care less!

Such a retarded sentiment that's said over and over. "Errr meh-meh-meh, if you don't want it then don't buy it." Cheers for pointing that out as I am too fucking thick to realise I don't have to buy things I don't like. The point is they have sold out and people are moaning about the shit coming out all the time. Albums we already have most of the choons on, mediocre poster for £300, a fucking picture book for a tonne, tshirts that fall apart for £35, condoms, crappy keyrings for £6.... It didn't used to be like this and people are pissed off that this sell out just goes on and on, while where are the things fans really want? Since this album came out what has been wanted? Mescaline, yet we have to buy another CD with a track we already have and a couple of wank remixes to get it (unless you like MP3s, I don't.)
Another thing is why buy anything signed unless you saw them sign it? Id on't get that. You can show off and tell your mates it's signed, but it wasn't signed to you. It was probably scribbl;ed on the book (like the photos) while they were in the bog as they don't give a shit. 999 books to sign? I wouldn't be happy! The last Prodigy book I bought was for £4.99, their very first book, the day it came out. That told you all about them. I don't need to look at a £99 book that is a temple to Keiths ego to be a fan. Who would have known the line "You're a mug" on RWTW was really talking about the fans?

Although I think Invaders Must Die is a great album, where does all the commotion around this album come from? Why a book? Why a special edition album? Why all the special print T-shirts? Why all the promo posters? Why all the short tours where every tour has an album track name?
I don't get it??

I will probably buy this book. It's very expensive but it has a cool lay out and I liked the previous Fat of the Land book. But it IS a very, very big pile of money for a book. Who initiated this book? Has it been the guys themselves? Where are their comments on this book? What do they have to say about the price?

I'm beginning to get the feeling that although they are releasing a lot (even too much nonsense: a Prodigy condom??!!) for us to buy they are loosing the connecting with their fanbase. I think Liam, Maxim and Keith are sinceer in their blogs/posts but all this commercial poohay crumbles that credibility.

I've moaned about this commercial side to the band of late, but I think my main reason for buying was to have a momento of a great 18 month of IMD. The price will probably fall, if sales numbers stutter, then I guess it'll be a case of cancelling my order and buying again. There's no point in getting annoyed with the merchandising side of things, as long as the gigs are still explosive and the vibe is right, good luck to them. I look at super rich artists that are full of shit and think, The Prodigy derserve the same or if not more recognition for their achievements, so let the money flow.....
Like a lot of other fans I've paid a hell of a lot more for promos etc which the band get £zero from. So from that angle, I'd like to see more limited official items.

Do you really think ? Hmm... I guess there will be a little surprise for the buyers, cos why do you have to wait until 4th of january instead of getting it now ???

The Electronic Punks book is essential for anyone interested in the history of the band, you should definitely get it CSUMB for that project of yours.

As for the IMD book, I'm sure its nice but I'm not really interested in spending all that money for a picture book

So you're saying that before 4th January you will be invited up to meet them where they will ask your name and sign it to you, right there in front of you? Cool, I didn't read that anywhere. I would assume that if they do sign it to "you" then they will just have a list of 999 names of people they have probably never met. That's if they even do put your name on it. Oh well, I hope they do for your sake, at least then you can pretend that they personally signed it to you. Each to their own. £70 for my Jilted 3D face. Bargain, especially as hardly anyone has one. £80 for the Fresh Packed Cuts promo CD. Bargain as it was never commercially available. Over a tonne for a book of pics of the boys on stage and backstage etc that 998 other mugs can buy? Nah, I'll let you guys have that one. Enjoy. I have paid that price for a book before, but that was an encyclopedia of herpetology that I used for work and because I was into that for quite a few years. Worth every penny. This book though I wouldn't want to ever get it out for fear of damaging it. At least the art prints you can frame if you so wish so you can get the enjoyment of it always being out on display.
However, the packaging is awesome. If the box-set of IMD had come packaged like that I may have paid £99 for it.

P.S. Remember the kiddy on here whos photo wasn't signed by Liam? That must have been a kick in the teeth
