TOPIC: Praise to the Prodigy

Praise to the Prodigy 4 years, 5 months ago #23722

What with all the negativity on the Prodigy recently on this forum (ahem....some by me)

I thought I would start a topic (which i fear will get moved again to off topic as that happens a lot to me)

This topic is just to praise the Prodigy

What got you into them?
How old are you?
Did you see them live when they started out?
What track got you into them/what is your favourite track
Do you think their music is still as good as it used to be?
Have you met them-were they nice people?

I owe a lot to Liam Howlett and co...as it was them who got me into rave music and led me to buy my own decks...if he had not made that kind of music what would my life be like now?

Anyway I know a lot of the questions are already anwered on other topics but here is a new one where we can put it all together (basically I am just bored and felt like starting a topic)

So lets praise the prodigy....what have they done for you?

P.S This does not mean I like IMD

i promise i won't move this to off topic
we only do that if the thread is not directly related to the band.
and its not that we're obessessive about our boys...
it just keeps the place nice and tidy for our poor old eyes

anyway..

1. leeroys legs
2. 28
3. first in 94
4. EITP/the heat the energy
5. no

Good on you!

What got you into them? Them!
How old are you? 35
Did you see them live when they started out? Yes, Sweatbox Allnighter @ Bally's, Arbroath in Scotland.
What track got you into them/what is your favourite track? Charlie & Everybody on the Android ep / Skylined
Do you think their music is still as good as it used to be? It's different, difficult to compare it. I've heard the IMD promo and it's like a mix of everything they ever did. Ok, answer would be no
Have you met them-were they nice people? No, prob could have in Glasgow though as I passed their tour bus on way to college the other day.

Alright, usually i don't that kind of stuff, but there ya go:

What got you into them?
My Cousin. She is 5 years older than me and she was a teenager when the Prodigy-rocket took off.
How old are you?
26
Did you see them live when they started out?
Sadly not. No.
What track got you into them/what is your favourite track
I remember watching EITP and OOS on the telly and being really entertained by that.
It started to roll with No Good. Favourite tracks? Rhythm Of Life, Break and Enter, Mindfields. (sorry)
Do you think their music is still as good as it used to be?
Yes.
Have you met them-were they nice people?
No. I don't think that it is hard to meet them, but i don't want to push it.
Destiny will bring us together.

What about you, Em?

What got you into them? Listening to Charly & EITP on my Rave Generation tape, turned up full on my crappy tape player distorting like hell and nearly blowing the speakers out. Great times!

How old are you? 30

Did you see them live when they started out? First saw them at Phoenix festival '96, both on main stage & dance tent. That was still the best festival I've ever been too. The line up was unbelivable!!!

What track got you into them/what is your favourite track
No Good Start The Dance got me seriously in to them and is probably still my fave track. In fact Jilted as an album in full is still my no. 1 album of all time.

Do you think their music is still as good as it used to be? Yeah, Warriors Dance is one of the best tunes I've heard for a long time. Old school but fresh = perfect combo. World's on Fire is rocking it too!

Have you met them-were they nice people? Unfortunately not, though once had a staring contest with Maxim.
He won!

Haha, Maxim always wins! He kicks your ass with his stare. Something that only Chuck Norris was able to do.
That "Moscow-Incident" comes to my mind. Priceless!

What got you into them? Cool kids and Out of Space at a school disco
How old are you? 27
Did you see them live when they started out? Naw. Saw them first time in Reading Rivermede in 97... around today or tomorrow 11 years ago in fact!
What track got you into them/what is your favourite track? Out of Space got me into them. Favourite track always changes. Absolutely love Break and Enter though. Start to the best album.
Do you think their music is still as good as it used to be? Wasn't overwhelmed by Always Outgunned. I have a good feeling that Invaders Must Die will be a firm favourite. Warriors Dance blows my mind!
Have you met them-were they nice people? Never met them. Would be too scared. Like people say, never meet your childhood heroes. Plus I once made an arse out of myself in front of Ed De Goey (Chelsea goalkeeper) and swore from that day on never to approach famous people.

Breathe/i guess Smack My Bitch Up - it's just the perfect track, so much energy.

I'ts different, but yes.

Have you met them-were they nice people?
i don't think i'd like to meet my idols, even though they seem really cool people

What got you into them? One day I was shopping and the shop played firestarter, everyone in the shop had a rave

How old are you? Age 20-25

Did you see them live when they started out? I was a baby, but yes my mum put me on her back and took me to a secret rave where they played. I had a glowstick dummy

What track got you into them/what is your favourite track? oooh I would say weather experience which I heard on the bbc when they made a feature of it, again I was very young but I had good taste, and thw weather was my favourite programme.

Do you think their music is still as good as it used to be? What? Was it good in the first place? (Only joking!) I love it

Have you met them-were they nice people? Again, yes...at a very young age I was lucky enough to meet them and (edited out due to my bad taste in humour)
